Vesak Celebrations & Pirith

The Vesak Celebrations and Pirith Ceremony at Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda honor the sacred Buddhist festival of Vesak, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha. The event begins with a solemn Pirith chanting ceremony, inviting blessings of peace and well-being for the school community and young women. Sujathians’ participate in decorating the school with colorful lanterns and engage in acts of compassion and charity, reflecting the values of Buddhism. Through these celebrations, students learn the importance of mindfulness, kindness, and spiritual growth, making Vesak a time of reflection, joy, and shared values.
