Pera Poya Programmes - Sujatha Vidyalaya - Nugegoda

Pera Poya Programmes

Pera Poya is a significant event celebrated at Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda to honor the Poya Day that marks the end of the Buddhist lent. This occasion is dedicated to reflecting on the teachings and practices of Buddhism, with activities such as meditation, prayer, and discussions on Buddhist principles. Students engage in learning about the historical and spiritual significance of Poya, fostering a deeper understanding of their spiritual heritage. The event promotes mindfulness, compassion, and ethical living, creating a meaningful experience for the greater Sujathian’ community to connect with the values of Buddhism.

Established in 1965, Sujatha Vidyalaya is a leading Government Approved private girls’ school catering to both Edexcel and the Local GCE Curriculum. We foster practical skills at an early age to create a niche learning experience with a student to faculty ratio of 10:1.
